JD Ward's Insurance Information and Advice - Long Term Care

Hello, my name is JD Ward, and I am an independent insurance agent, who lives and works in California. One of my best friends has ALS, and his name is Steve Gleason. So when Steve was diagnosed, my therapy, was to learn everything I could about the disease. So I could understand what Steve’s path was going to be, along with my path. I also wanted to see if there were any kind of possibilities that my professional position, and the knowledge that came along with being an insurance broker, could offer some kind of solace or tangible help, to PALS, and their families. The great news is, is that there are choices out in the market place for particular situations in the ALS community. My focus is to be a disseminator of information, so that PALS and their families can gather the right information, and make the best choices, depending on their situation. The topics I am going to cover will be, but not exclusive to: Long Term Care Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, and Medicare Supplemental Insurance Regular Health Insurance Supplemental Insurance Life Insurance Tax Free Estate Planning Now all of these insurance products have their own set of rules for underwriting, and what the benefits of each products are. I find that in most situations, people, in general, know nothing about insurance. So, a huge part of my focus is to educate. Because the more you know, the more proactive you will be, to look at and possibly purchase the right insurance product for your situation. So as we go along, I will be available for questions. I will do my very best to answer those questions. But just as a gentle reminder, I live and work in California, so if there is something about a specific product, within a specific state, I will do my very best to find out the answer, or point the person in the right direction. My blog is for general information, and educational purposes. Again, my focus is to educate and start a discussion about insurance products, to give a little help to the PALS and families battling, or that will be battling ALS. No White Flags.
